Doula Services and Fees

Before Labor
From the moment you hire me, I provide support through phone, email, texting etc.

We will typically meet two times prenatally to discuss birth wishes and comfort measures, and you have the option to attend complimentary prenatal yoga classes.

The first meeting gives us a chance discuss your concerns and hopes, as well as how  we can work together to create a positive birth experience for you, your partner and your baby.

The second meeting is for us to practice hands-on comfort measures so that we can become more comfortable with each other during your labor and birth.

From 38 weeks onward I am on call for you 24/7.

When Labor Begins
In the case of a long early labor, I check in periodically and arrive when you are moving into active labor.

During labor, I provide comfort measures:  massage, counter pressure, movement, breathing techniques, and verbal encouragement et cetera.  I also guide your birth partner in finding helpful ways to comfort you.

My goal is to support you and your birth partner during this beautiful but vulnerable period of life. I aim to help every family move through the stages of labor and birth with comfort and grace.

After Birth
I remain with you  until you are ready for quiet time with your new baby.  After birth, I help by creating the ideal environment for you and your partner to bond with your new baby, as well as assist with the first feeding.

Post Partum Visit
In the week or so after your baby's birthday, I like to follow up with a home visit to see how everyone is adjusting to life with baby.  This is a time to reconstruct your birth story, as well as to provide me with feedback.

Cesarean Birth  If the hospital policy prevents me from being with you during a cesarean birth, I will still  provide immediate post‐partum support.

As a doula I do not:
  • Perform clinical tasks like taking blood pressure, vaginal exams, etc.
  • Make decisions for you. My role as a doula is to observe, listen and reiterate.
  • Speak to the staff on your behalf.  I encourage communication with your care provider and am happy to discuss options with you, however you or your loved one should speak directly to the clinical staff.
